Hayton Hideaways are luxury glamping pods situated on a small family-run farm in the beautiful village of Hayton near Brampton Cumbria. Perfect for family holidays, relaxing “get-away-from- it-all” breaks or as a romantic retreat in the heart of the rural Cumbrian countryside. Experience the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside and wake up to views of the outstanding Lake District fells, the Solway Firth and the Scottish Galloway hills. The sunsets here really are spectacular! Provision can be made for special requests including Cumbrian Breakfast Hampers, Afternoon teas, birthday packages etc. Lovely country walks are on your doorstep with the river Gelt and woods nearby, not to mention the world-famous Hadrian’s Wall just a couple of miles away at Lanercost in Brampton. Talkin Country Park is two miles away and historic Carlisle is 7 miles away.

Local Area

The village of Hayton offers a traditional pub ‘The Stone Inn’ which is family run and offers home cooked meals, has a roaring log fire and dogs are welcome. It is a five minute stroll away from the pods and offers a warm welcome seven days a week with real ale on offer. Home cooked meals are available Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. A children’s play area is located very near to Hayton Hideaways and offers lots of fun for children of all ages. Hayton has a private swimming pool which is available to hire by the hour – best to book a slot as it is very popular! The village has a strong community and there are often village events to enjoy such as the annual traditional May Day celebrations, the three-day beer festival at the end of May, an annual Scarecrow Competition, Open Gardens and a Summer Fair. We are situated in a perfect location for lovers of the countryside, close to Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District. Beautiful walks can be found direct from the pods with maps and routes provided. Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn are close by and those who crave culture can visit the Historic Carlisle Castle. The market town of Brampton is located 3 miles away which offers butchers, fish & chip shop, post office, antique centre, flower shop, hairdressers, beauty rooms, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.

How To Find Us

Leave the M6 at Junction 43 and take the A69 for Newcastle. Continue on this road for about 4 miles until you reach the traffic lights at Warwick Bridge. Turn right here for Heads Nook then take the very next Left for How Mill/Castle Carrock and Hayton Hideaways are situated about 1.5 miles along this road on your left. From the East (Newcastle), head East on the A69 towards Carlisle. At the traffic lights at Warwick Bridge turn left and then left again for How Mill/Castle Carrock and Hayton Hideaways are situated about 1.5 miles along this road on your left.
